Hair

Day 1 of my wife in Disneyland and me getting my daughter ready all alone this morning. I get her ready every morning actually, but after she's dressed, I'll send her to her mom for a hair fixing. And this morning I learned something that I already knew. I don't know how to do things with a little girls hair. Actually, I don't know how to do things with grown girls hair either, but that's not the point. The point is that this morning, I learned that I can't turn my little girls hair into pigtails, nor can i make a simple top-of-head ponytail that my wife usually favors.

Of course, this took me a few extra minutes this morning while my lovely daughter patiently waited with her head down for me to try to do something useful with her hair to keep it out of her eyes. Luckily for me, there was a little headband gizmo that I found to push her hair back, Of course by the time I got her to my parents house, she'd turned it from a headband for hair into a Greek style leaf headband. Or for you fellow geekers out there, Geordi La Forge style pink sunglasses. I don't know why I bothered putting that in her hair, as she'll take both hands, and push her hair back and tell me, "I got it, Daddy." She's only two and she's better at fixing her hair than I am. It must be a girl thing. 'Cause it sure ain't a Daddy thing.
